Christian Steinert

Christian Steinert is an IT professional who holds a Diploma in Computer Science and has extensive experience across various fields of information technology, with a primary focus on software development.
Christian has been a Buddhist since 2002 and has a great interest in Buddhist Philosophy. He studied with Alexander Berzin and, for over ten years, was responsible for the technical development of the multilingual website The Berzin Archives, the precursor of today’s StudyBuddhism.com.
Christian has completed the 5-year Buddhist online course Systematic Studies of Buddhism (Systematisches Studium des Buddhismus) at the Tibetan Center Hamburg as well as the non-academic Masters Program by the FPMT in Pomaia (Italy). He later served as tutor for online students of the FPMT Masters Program from 2015-2021.
Christian is the developer of the Tibetan-English-Sanskrit dictionary application at dictionary.christian-steinert.de that aims to provide access to a variety of dictionaries and glossaries from different authors in a unified way.
Through getting involved in editing the revised edition of Meditation on Emptiness and other editing efforts, Christian came into contact with Jeffrey Hopkins during the last year of Jeffrey Hopkins’ life.
Together with Boris SimonÄiÄ, Christian relaunched the website of the UMA institute in 2025. He aims to help with future publications and the continued maintenance of the website.
